The corner was taken by Marnix Mastebroek in the 9th minute. Dimitri Weijgaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferry Hebels in the 13th minute of play. U21 Belgium's Dimitri Weijgaerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klaas Jan Mol in the 15th minute of play. Dre Van Bever kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Dimitri Weijgaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roelof Molenaar in the 25th minute of play. U21 Belgium's Dimitri Weijgaerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Collen in the 27th minute of play. Dimitri Weijgaerts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Klaas Jan Mol's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. After 35 minutes of play, U21 Netherlands's Klaas Jan Mol made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dimitri Weijgaerts was left in no man's land by his defense there! 39 minutes into the game, Simon Du Sausois was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Belgium's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Netherlands the free kick. After 39 played minutes U21 Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Simon Du Sausois. The U21 Belgium players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Netherlands were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dyllan Van Castel to make the kick off. U21 Belgium were furious when Georges-Philippe Goos was red carded, 51 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 51 minutes into the game, one of U21 Belgium:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. U21 Belgium:s Dimitri Weijgaerts showed great skill when he stopped Marnix Mastebroek:s penalty. After 53 played minutes U21 Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Wuets. 61 minutes into the game, Roelof Molenaar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Dimitri Weijgaerts was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ferry Hebels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Dimitri Weijgaerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dyllan Van Castel hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Dimitri Weijgaerts made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Roelof Molenaar sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute Klaas Jan Mol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimitri Weijgaerts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Belgium's Dimitri Weijgaerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferry Hebels in the 78th minute of play. Dimitri Weijgaerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaas Jan Mol, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Dimitri Weijgaerts was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Klaas Jan Mol showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 79 minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 Belgium's Gunther De Wortelaer got a free kick in the 85th minute. Dimitri Weijgaerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Collen in the 87th minute of the match. Klaas Jan Mol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freek Capelle hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. When Klaas Jan Mol came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the U21 Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Klaas Jan Mol couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferry Hebels in the 98th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Dimitri Weijgaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
