The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Franco Garro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Gerbault in the 9th minute of play. When CERRO PORTEÑO's Román Olmedo in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Valdieri's goalie prevented a goal. 12 minutes into the game, Edgar Kensicki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Franco Garro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Franco Garro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Román Olmedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cãlin Damaschin came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Valdieri's Paolo Garro. But to his dismay, Paolo Garro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 29 minutes into the match, Valdieri's goal looked a bit too open when Román Olmedo came free, but Franco Garro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Francesco Basso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 minutes, Moreno Martins made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Valdieri's Franco Garro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Garro in the 38th minute of play forced CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Cãlin Damaschin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Valdieri's goal looked a bit too open when Román Olmedo came free, but Franco Garro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Moreno Martins in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franco Garro prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paolo Garro to strike the kick off in the second half. Valdieri's Franco Garro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Valdieri from getting a goal against them. 58 minutes in the game Abel Velasco did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Paulo Maldini. Román Olmedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franco Garro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Román Olmedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Román Olmedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Franco Garro made a huge save. Cãlin Damaschin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paolo Garro's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Franco Garro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Román Olmedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Franco Garro made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Edgar Kensicki sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Román Olmedo in the 79th minute of play forced Valdieri's goalkeeper Franco Garro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Román Olmedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Franco Garro made a huge save. In the 83rd play minute Moreno Martins came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Franco Garro. 1-4. When Francesco Cieri fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valdieri's protests and gave Francesco Cieri a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Valdieri's Francesco Cieri got a free kick in the 91st minute. CERRO PORTEÑO's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
