In the 6thth minute of the game Matias Corte-Real who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. União Sport Clube Paredes's Jerónimo Furtado got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dabi Saens was slow to take the kick. During this time União Sport Clube Paredes's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on União Sport Clube Paredes's corner Leopoldo Barbosa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gualter Roriz quite easily take care of the ball. União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Corte-Real in the 28th minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Napoleon Tylenda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Delta FS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Napoleon Tylenda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Delta FS's Gualter Roriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 33rd minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Delta FS's goalkeeper Gualter Roriz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Delta FS defense, Dabi Saens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gualter Roriz. The Delta FS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gualter Roriz should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in União Sport Clube Paredes's zone, Napoleon Tylenda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwin van der Sar came out of the goal and Napoleon Tylenda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edwin van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Corte-Real in the 60th minute of the match. Delta FS's Andaka Pulatov was substituted for Matias Corte-Real. A well-hit corner resulted in Andaka Pulatov heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. União Sport Clube Paredes made a substitution. Horia Taşcu replaced Mehran Utandıbalayev. Napoleon Tylenda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Edwin van der Sar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Delta FS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dabi Saens was slow to take the kick. During this time União Sport Clube Paredes's players had a chance to rest. In the 82nd minute Andaka Mula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Napoleon Tylenda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edwin van der Sar. União Sport Clube Paredes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Napoleon Tylenda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Gualter Roriz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 91st minute. 94 minutes into the game, Napoleon Tylenda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Edwin van der Sar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
