August Bergsland hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Cristobal Edur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Opdal having to interfere. In the 12th minute Esteve Kelemen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leif Opdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delmar Bazil kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Marlin FC's goal looked a bit too open when August Bergsland came free, but Jose Palban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Delmar Bazil came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Marlin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delmar Bazil couldn't finish the play. After 21 played minutes Brufoss IL got a freekick which was hit by Christer Ribe. When Alberto Bembe came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Marlin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Bembe couldn't finish the play. Leif Opdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante Satordi, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Marlin FC were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Brufoss IL's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alberto Bembe took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristobal Edur in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leif Opdal saved Brufoss IL from getting behind. Leif Opdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Tomi, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Edur in the 33rd minute of play forced Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frode Tobiassen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jose Palban having to make a save. Frode Tobiassen scored 1-0 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jose Palban, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 42nd minute, Brufoss IL's Kai Østbye ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jose Palban. Jose Palban yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Frode Tobiassen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Jose Palban made a huge save. Brufoss IL's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by August Bergsland in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when August Bergsland stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by August Bergsland in the 51st minute of play forced Marlin FC's goalkeeper Jose Palban to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dante Satordi. 57 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goal looked a bit too open when Esteve Kelemen came free, but Leif Opdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Brufoss IL getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. August Bergsland hit a great ball. Dante Satordi came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Leif Opdal could save by the left post. Alberto Bembe lost his temper 63 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 63rd match minute, Marlin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Bembe to maneuver through the defense. Jose Palban showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from August Bergsland in the 64th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dante Satordi. Jose Palban showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Ferstad in the 72nd minute of the match. Leif Opdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristobal Edur in the 75th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Delmar Bazil got free with Leif Opdal in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leif Opdal made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Dante Satordi sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kai Østbye during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th match minute, Brufoss IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kai Østbye to maneuver through the defense. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Brufoss IL were victorious despite being under pressure from Marlin FC for much of the match.
