Newells Old Boys's Mehmet Şefik Zümer got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lokman Sağlamtürk received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joseph Reichardt came out and tried to block the shot, but Lokman Sağlamtürk slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 36th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lokman Sağlamtürk to make the kick off. Joseph Reichardt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lokman Sağlamtürk, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The corner ended in Mirkelam Periz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Möhnsen FC's Joseph Reichardt did a great save. Newells Old Boys's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Çetin Elçibey in the 97th minute. It was a well-played corner which Mirkelam Periz managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.
