In the 18th minute Howard Layfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig-Ove Håkansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Gazanfer Canıtez sped through Annedal FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Stig-Ove Håkansson. After a rather tough play, Annedal FC's Henrik Skager got a free kick in the 40th minute. Stig-Ove Håkansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Lester, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The audience was convinced that Gazanfer Canıtez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stig-Ove Håkansson was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. After 43 played minutes FC LIVERPOOL got a freekick which was hit by Gong Yi Feng. Niklas Norberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Frank Pearce when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 59 minutes into the match, FC LIVERPOOL's goal looked a bit too open when Jörn Offendahl came free, but Frank Pearce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Pearce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörn Offendahl, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gazanfer Canıtez in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stig-Ove Håkansson saved Annedal FC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Annedal FC defense, Jim Lyons kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stig-Ove Håkansson. The Annedal FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stig-Ove Håkansson should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that FC LIVERPOOL were the better team. FC LIVERPOOL's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
