Higinio Urti might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Feliciano Ayala. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Higinio Urti ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedro Errolan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Feliciano Ayala. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. In the 17th minute, Margarita's Ruperto Bento seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ruperto Bento the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Margarita protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ruperto Bento had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Margarita:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Santos de Buenos Aires FC:s goal. After a long run with the ball, Zacarias Milian did a trick in the 19th minute in front of Margarita's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 1-1. An impressive performance by Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Zacarias Milian! 26 minutes into the match, Santos de Buenos Aires FC's goalkeeper Feliciano Ayala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Omar Montes. In the 26th minute, Pedro Errolan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cipriano Aztore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Omar Montes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Feliciano Ayala was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. 35 minutes into the match, Anibal Xabier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Garaona. Margarita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anibal Xabier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 39 minutes into the match, Margarita's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Aztore came free, but Flavio Garaona reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anibal Xabier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Garaona having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Pedro Errolan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Feliciano Ayala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Flavio Garaona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anibal Xabier in the 55th minute. After having played for 58 minutes, Anibal Xabier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anibal Xabier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flavio Garaona was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Modesto Caetano. In the 73rd minute, Daniel Zabala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santos de Buenos Aires FC made a substitution. Godofredo Rioja replaced Anibal Xabier. Margarita's Omar Montes pulled a muscle in his back after 75 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Eulalio Chucho fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santos de Buenos Aires FC's protests and gave Eulalio Chucho a yellow card for diving instead. Margarita's Isidro Botello was substituted for Omar Montes. In the 76th match minute, Santos de Buenos Aires FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eulalio Chucho to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes in the game Wilfredo Vimaro did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Zacarias Hartz. A sloppy throw-in by Braulio Guipuzkoa in the 84th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Eulalio Chucho. If Zacarias Milian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 92nd match minute, Santos de Buenos Aires FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ladislao Rudolfo to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute of the game Eulalio Chucho made a throw-in which Modesto Caetano played forward.
