Social Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Murdock Sayner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Conner Mclatchey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nelson da Silveira. That made the score 6-0 in the 44 minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Basílio Paraibano was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Southern Thrashers booed when Social Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 80th minute Murdock Sayner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Social Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan Beverly came free, but Nelson da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Murdock Sayner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nelson da Silveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 11-0. Southern Thrashers's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
