Wesley Lara took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Horacio Diagur. Horacio Diagur dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as AKD's Paulino Gonzo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Afonsinho Nunes. That made the score 1-1 after 12 minutes of play. After 16 played minutes AKD got a freekick which was hit by Lisandro Niva. Horacio Diagur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Lara in the 21st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Wesley Lara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horacio Diagur was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulino Gonzo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Afonsinho Nunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 33 minutes, Fabian Quintun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AKD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabian Quintun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Jarbas Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 51st minute Wesley Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horacio Diagur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 52nd minute, Baltasar Orlo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Clube Atletico Alagoano getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Gil Sarmento hit a great ball. Paulino Gonzo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonsinho Nunes having to make a save. AKD's Baltasar Orlo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Diogo Leal in the 69 minute of the game. If Wesley Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonsinho Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulino Gonzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Wesley Lara struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Horacio Diagur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Atletico Alagoano. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Brito got free with Horacio Diagur in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by AKD's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edvaldo Peixoto was slow to take the kick. During this time Clube Atletico Alagoano's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Edvaldo Peixoto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AKD's Horacio Diagur did a great save. When the final whistle sounded Clube Atletico Alagoano left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AKD.
