With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrico Longo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jorge Oberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Romino in the 11th minute of play. In the 37th minute Ferdinando Chiavetta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Oberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lunatics of Arianrhod's Francesco Romino got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Bock in the 42nd minute of play forced Lunatics of Arianrhod's goalkeeper Enrico Longo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th match minute, Buenaventura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Américo Oberto to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Lunatics of Arianrhod's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Romino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Oberto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorge Oberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ettore Amadei in the 62nd minute of play. After 96 played minutes, Lunatics of Arianrhod's Bruno Puja shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jorge Oberto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lunatics of Arianrhod reached it. Lunatics of Arianrhod's Enrico Longo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Lunatics of Arianrhod from getting a goal against them. Pablo Bermudez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Enrico Longo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lunatics of Arianrhod fans cheered their team off the field, for while Buenaventura FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
