Buenaventura FC's Julio De Diego got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dadá da Costa during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Walter Bock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo José Vianna hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauan Barros in the 20th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Jorge Oberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Dadá Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Oberto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ernani Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Bock in the 30th minute of play. Walter Bock scored 1-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ernani Xavier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Julio De Diego managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buenaventura FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio De Diego was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernani Xavier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edmundo Ceresso hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orlando Ramírez in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernani Xavier saved Premier FC from getting behind. Baltazar Prata hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Premier FC's zone, Walter Bock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernani Xavier came out of the goal and Walter Bock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Orlando Ramírez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ernani Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Bock in the 97th minute of play forced Premier FC's goalkeeper Ernani Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Buenaventura FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Premier FC throughout the match.
