In the 19th minute, Palestra do Interior's Zé Rafael seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Zé Rafael the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Palestra do Interior protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Zé Rafael had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of Palestra do Interior:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of South Park:s goal. Fernando Pras went to the wrong direction when Lucas Björklund was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Perivaldo Carneiro during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After taking down the ball on South Park's corner Lucas Björklund fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fernando Pras quite easily take care of the ball. Lucas Björklund was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 35 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in South Park fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! South Park:s Alfred Bagge showed great skill when he stopped Ronaldo Pirani:s penalty. If Nelsinho Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Anísio Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 47th minute of play forced South Park's goalkeeper Alfred Bagge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Krister Christoffersson was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, South Park's goalkeeper Alfred Bagge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Perivaldo Gerber. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Krister Christoffersson couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute, Roy Pettersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, South Park's Krister Christoffersson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernando Pras narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
