In the 6th minute Egídio de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Corinth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cássio Corinth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erivaldo Pernambucano in the 19th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Vedillo Quijano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wellington Phoenix's Leonel Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denílson Lopes in the 26th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teofilo Unai during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of C.A Gryffindor booed when Wellington Phoenix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wei Yao Sha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonel Barros came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A Gryffindor's Rene Crescencio. But to his dismay, Rene Crescencio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 36 minutes into the match, C.A Gryffindor's goalkeeper Cássio Corinth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teofilo Unai. 40 minutes into the game, Vedillo Quijano threw the ball into play from the sideline. Wellington Phoenix's Erivaldo Pernambucano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.

If Egídio de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute of the match, Rene Crescencio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leonel Barros saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rene Crescencio in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonel Barros saved Wellington Phoenix from getting behind. When C.A Gryffindor's Rene Crescencio, in the 64th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for C.A Gryffindor. Cássio Corinth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Unai, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Leonel Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Crescencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wei Yao Sha scored 1-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cássio Corinth, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. C.A Gryffindor's Mauro Oliveira was substituted for Rene Crescencio. C.A Gryffindor made a substitution. Edgard Mangueira replaced Bill Bill. Mao Yong Xiang hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, C.A Gryffindor's Leonel Barros threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mauro Oliveira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 91 minutes into the match, C.A Gryffindor's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Castro came free, but Cássio Corinth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The C.A Gryffindor players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Wellington Phoenix from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
