In the 25th minute Andrei Arghiroiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Wrobel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the BiBa defense, Gigel Ifrim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stefan Wrobel. The BiBa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stefan Wrobel should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, BiBa's Thomas Unterberger got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

50 minutes into the match, BiBa's goalkeeper Stefan Wrobel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iosif Doicaru. The audience was convinced that Klaus-Dieter Danes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nechifor Curuțiu was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Oliver Jarkovsky managed to get in a good position for a shot. BiBa's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliver Jarkovsky was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nechifor Curuțiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nechifor Curuțiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heiko Yuschni in the 79th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrei Arghiroiu got free with Stefan Wrobel in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nechifor Curuțiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Jarkovsky in the 85th minute of the match.
