In the 6th minute, Los Gaticidas's Urbano Emesto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Pål Holm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urbano Emesto in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute of the match, Zeledon Orain tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pål Holm saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Urbano Emesto in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pål Holm prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 24 minutes into the match, Los Gaticidas's Maximiliano Bartolome sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pål Holm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Charles Sundberg scored 1-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alejandro Hunfredo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th minute, Urbano Emesto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 30 minutes on the clock, Angelino Tancredo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave San Fantastico 89ers a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jason Ležák, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Los Gaticidas's Alejandro Hunfredo. 1-3. A collision led to San Fantastico 89ers getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Charles Sundberg hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Jason Ležák got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Jason Ležák had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alejandro Hunfredo. Los Gaticidas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jason Ležák was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. 47 minutes into the game, Karl-Ove Söderström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Fantastico 89ers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Gaticidas the free kick. Karl-Ove Söderström hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Alejandro Hunfredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jason Ležák, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Alejandro Hunfredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Ležák, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Urbano Emesto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Pål Holm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damaso Ilazki made a great header on Los Gaticidas's corner, it was just that San Fantastico 89ers's Pål Holm managed to reach the ball for a save. Urbano Emesto took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pål Holm. Pål Holm dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Roque Veronica hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Los Gaticidas's Alejandro Hunfredo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Los Gaticidas from getting a goal against them. 78 minutes into the match, Los Gaticidas's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Lindberg came free, but Alejandro Hunfredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charles Sundberg came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alejandro Hunfredo could save by the left post. A collision led to Los Gaticidas getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Delmiro Cordarrell hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, San Fantastico 89ers's goal looked a bit too open when Urbano Emesto came free, but Pål Holm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 88 minutes, Delmiro Cordarrell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Gaticidas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Delmiro Cordarrell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Maximiliano Bartolome had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Urbano Emesto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Holm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Los Gaticidas's Urbano Emesto in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Fantastico 89ers's goalie prevented a goal. The San Fantastico 89ers players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
