With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tudor Ene prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anfilogino Polmone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tudor Ene took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anfilogino Polmone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Cacciola booed when Liverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silviu Turcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Ernesto Cara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cacciola fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Ernesto Cara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cacciola's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Cara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tudor Ene breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anfilogino Polmone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Tudor Ene tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albert Ursu shot from long distance in the 23rd minute, but Eugenio Bartolomucci was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Anfilogino Polmone blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tudor Ene having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto Finocchio during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Liverpool booed when Cacciola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Finocchio didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ernesto Cara came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Cacciola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Cara couldn't finish the play. If Ernesto Cara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Cacciola's goalkeeper Eugenio Bartolomucci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Jianu. After the first half Cacciola were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernesto Cara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Liverpool's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when Ernesto Cara scored to the left of an out of position Tudor Ene, making the score, 0-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Anfilogino De Vito kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tudor Ene. That made the score 0-5 in the 54 minute of play. Anfilogino Polmone hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Ernesto Cara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tudor Ene having to interfere. Anfilogino Polmone struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Tudor Ene didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cacciola. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Cara in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tudor Ene saved Liverpool from getting behind. 73 minutes into the match, Ion Hârlab had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eugenio Bartolomucci. Cacciola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ion Hârlab was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. With his leg Tudor Ene managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Cacciola's Anfilogino Polmone fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tudor Ene didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernesto Cara went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-8 was the resulting score. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Liverpool's goalkeeper Tudor Ene, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Ernesto Cara came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Cacciola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Cara couldn't finish the play. If Anfilogino Polmone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Cacciola could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Liverpool throughout the match.
