The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Hogans Heroes's Charles Gregersson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Göran Lindström struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Mario Klompe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hogans Heroes. 20 minutes in the game, Alexander Cane fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mario Klompe having to interfere. A well placed Alexander Cane short distance shot in the 25th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. From a short distance, Hogans Heroes's Alexander Cane, in the 28th minute, tried to place the ball behind Mario Klompe, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. Mario Klompe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Björck in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Zijdewind SC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Ben Oude Kamphuis hit a great ball. Alexander Cane recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mario Klompe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kurt Björck in the 36th minute. After having played for 37 minutes, Alexander Cane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hogans Heroes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Cane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Morgan Matsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan ter Averst, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. A hard shot 42 in the game by Kurt Björck from a close distance when the talented Mario Klompe managed to make a qualified save. Zijdewind SC's players were relieved. Kurt Björck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alexander Cane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Mario Klompe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Alexander Cane blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mario Klompe having to make a save. 54 minutes into the game, Göran Lindström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hogans Heroes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zijdewind SC the free kick. After 54 played minutes Hogans Heroes got a freekick which was hit by Göran Lindström. In the 62nd minute, Alexander Cane left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hogans Heroes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. In the 67th minute Alexander Cane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Klompe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Björck came free, but Mario Klompe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alexander Cane came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Hogans Heroes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Cane couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Zijdewind SC's zone, Alexander Cane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Klompe came out of the goal and Alexander Cane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sjors Hoekstra during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sjors Hoekstra hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Hogans Heroes walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
