Bar Marconi United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arrigo Clementi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25thth minute of the game Juan Hvalica who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bar Marconi United's Franco Di Giambattista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 41st minute Modesto Ricart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Di Giambattista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amos Maietta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Apolo Munio when he managed to save the team from getting behind.

When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Juan Hvalica took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Franco Di Giambattista to make any attempt to save it.
