With a left leg Leonel Vaz saved FC Dream Team from getting behind. 14 minutes into the match, River de Ramos Mejía's goal looked a bit too open when Jardel van Beek came free, but Gualterio Daunte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Cesar Rosio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Dream Team's Leonel Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basilio Ibar in the 32nd minute of play. Gualterio Daunte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braz Tasso in the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, River de Ramos Mejía's Everardo Izel got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute, Jardel van Beek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Dream Team fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cesar Rosio to strike the kick off in the second half. When Damian Costante fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River de Ramos Mejía's protests and gave Damian Costante a yellow card for diving instead. Gualterio Daunte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Palhares in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Braz Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualterio Daunte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel van Beek in the 73rd minute of play forced River de Ramos Mejía's goalkeeper Gualterio Daunte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cesar Rosios short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Leonel Vaz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Cândido Gueifão managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Dream Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Cândido Gueifão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualterio Daunte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Cesar Rosio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonel Vaz was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. The River de Ramos Mejía fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when River de Ramos Mejía's Cesar Rosio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
