But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilmar Damião couldn't finish the play. Elder Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind EC Fragata's goalkeeper Alan Antunes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Clive Workman scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alan Antunes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 12 played minutes Lisburn Distillery F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Ross. The crowd rose to their feet as Clive Workman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alan Antunes. That made the score 2-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 20th minute, Andrew Ross hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match EC Fragata got a corner. Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antônio Alcântara ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dominik Giertych thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Brian Lambert, a very annoying self made goal in the 24th minute which led to 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Clive Workman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alan Antunes. That made the score 3-1 in the 29 minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilmar Damião was the one to do the kick off. In the 64th minute Andrew Ross shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alan Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clive Workman in the 70th minute of play. Elói Alagoano's late challenge caught a EC Fragata's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elói Alagoano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lisburn Distillery F.C. getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Elói Alagoano hit a great ball. Alan Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Booth in the 86th minute of the match. Clive Workman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Antunes having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, EC Fragata's goal looked a bit too open when Clive Workman came free, but Alan Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Lisburn Distillery F.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
