Torbjörn Berglund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wellington Rodrigues's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. A collision led to Leeds United FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink hit a great ball. In the 20th minute, Laércio Ramalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jenipapo SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After a rather tough play, Leeds United FC's Mikael Larsfelt got a free kick in the 28th minute. Torbjörn Berglund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Torbjörn Berglund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredinho Britto in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Daniel Zonta made a precise shot to the right of Torbjörn Berglund. Leeds United FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Torbjörn Berglund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wellington Rodrigues in the 39th minute of the match. Torbjörn Berglund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredinho Britto in the 41st minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wellington Rodrigues was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredinho Pereira during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thiago Paraibano had in the 55thth minute some difficulties stopping Bengt-Arne Söderberg's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 55th minute, Bengt-Arne Söderberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Paraibano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Wellington Rodrigues received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Torbjörn Berglund came out and tried to block the shot, but Wellington Rodrigues slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's Durval Passos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Torbjörn Berglund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 63 minutes, Wellington Rodrigues made it 1-8 with a short kick to the right side. Leeds United FC's Torbjörn Berglund tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-9 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Leeds United FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Wellington Rodrigues 92 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-12. In the 97th minute, Daniel Zonta reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Torbjörn Berglund. The goal made the score 1-13. Jenipapo SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
