An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Ursulescu in the 10th minute of play forced The Underdogs's goalkeeper Arnout Visscher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to The Owls getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Eugen Chiriacescu hit a great ball. In the 20th minute of the match The Owls got a corner. The Underdogs's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. A.J. Bufi ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that A.J. Bufi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnout Visscher quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Francisc Firoiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Godfried de Boer went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Pieter Kaspers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisc Firoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pieter Kaspers in the 31st minute of the match. Arnout Visscher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Ursulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Pieter Kaspers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisc Firoiu having to interfere. When Zula Brudnicki fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Underdogs's protests and gave Zula Brudnicki a yellow card for diving instead. Zula Brudnicki hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The supporters of The Owls booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zula Brudnicki didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Falco Bouma to make the kick off. Constantin Stelian charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Constantin Stelian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, The Owls's Constantin Stelian got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the game, The Underdogs's Falco Bouma nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francisc Firoiu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 60 minutes into the match, Pieter Kaspers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Francisc Firoiu, 0-3. A collision led to The Owls getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Eugen Chiriacescu hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Falco Bouma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisc Firoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pieter Kaspers, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. With a little luck, The Owls's Francisc Firoiu got control of the ball when Pieter Kaspers tried to sneak it across the goal line. The The Underdogs fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when The Underdogs's Pieter Kaspers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Underdogs's Shao Hui Li was substituted for Pieter Kaspers. 78 minutes into the game, Shao Hui Li recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Francisc Firoiu. Shao Hui Li showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. After 83 played minutes The Underdogs got a freekick which was hit by Falco Bouma. Falco Bouma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The The Underdogs supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing The Underdogs would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
