Valer Onișoru was a little too slow when Pedro Luiz Paiva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aki Guardo in the 11th minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Valer Onișoru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peng Peng got free with Valer Onișoru in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of LUIZ PANATO booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silver Phoenix didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th match minute, LUIZ PANATO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Paiva to maneuver through the defense. In the 31stth minute of the game Aki Guardo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Guto Taffarel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gigi Bobei went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Peng Peng could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Valer Onișoru made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aki Guardo in the 51st minute of play. A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Sorin Nicorici hit a great ball. Valer Onișoru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aki Guardo in the 69th minute of the match. Valer Onișoru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aki Guardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. LUIZ PANATO walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
