An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Ezkerra in the 6th minute of play forced Nautilus's goalkeeper Caco Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by C. A. Potrero's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Délio Lara was slow to take the kick. During this time Nautilus's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Xabel in the 16th minute of play forced Nautilus's goalkeeper Caco Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caco Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Xabel in the 17th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Nautilus's Tarcisio Matos got a free kick in the 19th minute. Justo Dunixi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandrinho Valadares in the 22nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Arnoldo Xabel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caco Marques was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Caco Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Ezkerra in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, C. A. Potrero's Ramon Sarracino got a free kick in the 39th minute. Caco Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Ezkerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Justo Dunixi was a little too slow when Délio Lara got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 48th minute. The score was now 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agnaldo Secco was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Sandrinho Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nautilus's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandrinho Valadares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justo Dunixi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 59 minutes into the match, Nautilus's goalkeeper Caco Marques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnoldo Xabel. With a little luck, Nautilus's Caco Marques got control of the ball when Arnoldo Xabel tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemente Ezkerra got free with Caco Marques in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of C. A. Potrero booed when Nautilus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Arnoldo Xabel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Potrero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnoldo Xabel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Nautilus's Caco Marques got control of the ball when Clemente Ezkerra tried to sneak it across the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Nautilus's goalkeeper Caco Marques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clemente Ezkerra. Caco Marques made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Clemente Ezkerra sent off a good shot on target. Arnoldo Xabel struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Caco Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Potrero. C. A. Potrero made a substitution. Paulino Cesario replaced Arnoldo Xabel. Caco Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Cesario in the 93rd minute of play. After 97 minutes, Agnaldo Secco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nautilus and the C. A. Potrero players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 97th minute, Agnaldo Secco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C. A. Potrero eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
