The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wayne Mesmaeckers in the 6th minute of play forced MZ Rapid's goalkeeper Grigore Eftimescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Bengt Siebert in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Apricis Bruxella's Dimitri Wijnrijx. 13 minutes into the match, Wayne Mesmaeckers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grigore Eftimescu. MZ Rapid's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wayne Mesmaeckers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Wayne Mesmaeckers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Grigore Eftimescu was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Jeoffrey Van Hooveldt hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Wayne Mesmaeckers struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Grigore Eftimescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apricis Bruxella. Apricis Bruxella's Jorg Leenders proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Apricis Bruxella from getting a goal against them. After having played for 41 minutes, Wayne Mesmaeckers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Apricis Bruxella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wayne Mesmaeckers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wayne Mesmaeckers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Grigore Eftimescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wayne Mesmaeckers went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Apricis Bruxella's Wayne Mesmaeckers got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Apricis Bruxella booed when MZ Rapid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filippos Stathopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wayne Mesmaeckers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Grigore Eftimescu made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Wayne Mesmaeckers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Grigore Eftimescu. That made the score 1-3 in the 69 minute of play. 武洲崇's late challenge caught a Apricis Bruxella's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. 武洲崇 helped the player get up and apologised. 72 minutes into the game, one of MZ Rapid:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 75 minutes into the match, Wayne Mesmaeckers notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of MZ Rapid's Grigore Eftimescu. Grigore Eftimescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Filippos Stathopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorg Leenders having to interfere. Wayne Mesmaeckers in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Grigore Eftimescu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of MZ Rapid booed when Apricis Bruxella was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederik Vandekerkhove didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, MZ Rapid's Grigore Eftimescu got control of the ball when Wayne Mesmaeckers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andrei Crăcană charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andrei Crăcană the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to MZ Rapid getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Andrei Crăcană hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Wayne Mesmaeckers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th match minute, Apricis Bruxella was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitri Wijnrijx to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Apricis Bruxella had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
