The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, João Carlos Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joxa mé trasan's supporters rose to their feet, but João Carlos Neto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grady Esposito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Ronnie Hellström made a huge save. After 16 minutes, José Augusto Brito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vila Mascote FC and the Joxa mé trasan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute Arne Bronco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaká Mota got free with Ronnie Hellström in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. William Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Carlos Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The audience was convinced that Arne Bronco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but William Rosa was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Ronnie Hellström made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Kaká Mota sent off a good shot on target. The referee ignored Vila Mascote FC's protests and gave Kaká Mota a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd match minute, Vila Mascote FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Mota to maneuver through the defense. 48 minutes into the game, Joxa mé trasan's João Carlos Neto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. William Rosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Carlos Neto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cleiton Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Hellström having to interfere. Joxa mé trasan's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grady Esposito in the 58th minute of play. When Vila Mascote FC's Cleiton Vidal in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaká Mota in the 68th minute of play forced Joxa mé trasan's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the game, Vila Mascote FC's Natã Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronnie Hellström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Joxa mé trasan made a substitution. Kevin Hellström replaced Mariusz Sebzda. After 85 played minutes Joxa mé trasan got a freekick which was hit by João Carlos Neto. The audience was convinced that Grady Esposito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronnie Hellström was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. In the 87th minute Vila Mascote FC were awarded a corner. Grady Esposito went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Vila Mascote FC's corner Grady Esposito fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ronnie Hellström quite easily take care of the ball. Ronnie Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Joxa mé trasan defense, Grady Esposito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronnie Hellström. The Joxa mé trasan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronnie Hellström should have stopped the shot. 95 minutes into the game, Vila Mascote FC's Cleiton Vidal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronnie Hellström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Cleiton Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Vila Mascote FC had won after a very even match.
