When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Pedro Luís Saldanha put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Elbert Plescher. Elbert Plescher didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anselmo Sampaio went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 25th minute, Chicão de Brito made a precise shot to the right of Elbert Plescher. De Pelgrims's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luís Saldanha in the 31st minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Elbert Plescher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Luís Saldanha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Elbert Plescher made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Rosado in the 37th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Elbert Plescher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedro Luís Saldanha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elbert Plescher. That made the score 5-0 in the 38 minute of play. Elbert Plescher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chicão de Brito in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute, Anselmo Sampaio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elbert Plescher. The goal made the score 6-0. 46 minutes into the match, Mundial EC's Pedro Luís Saldanha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elbert Plescher narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sjaak Scheffer made a kick off. Elbert Plescher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luís Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, one of De Pelgrims:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for De Pelgrims. Elbert Plescher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anselmo Sampaio in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elbert Plescher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elbert Plescher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís Saldanha in the 92nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Rosado in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elbert Plescher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mundial EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
