In the 83rd match minute, AS Monaco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boruc Wrzosek to maneuver through the defense. When Janusz Pluciennik fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AS Monaco FC's protests and gave Janusz Pluciennik a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes AS Monaco FC got a freekick which was hit by Janusz Pluciennik. Artur Grajewskis short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Mahmut Tuğlu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. AS Monaco FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
