The supporters of ACF Fiorentina booed when Sporting Club Sicilia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmondo Proia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximo Gasteiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Demetrio Rivera in the 7th minute of the match. Sporting Club Sicilia's Amos Giusto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Ricart in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sporting Club Sicilia's Emiliano Galdi got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 29 minutes, Ezequiel Ricart made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Sporting Club Sicilia's Amos Giusto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Flavio Calcio kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. ACF Fiorentina:s Maximo Gasteiz showed great skill when he stopped Alessandro Del Papa:s penalty. Bernabe Cordera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Amos Giusto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernabe Cordera's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute Ariel Chale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amos Giusto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half ACF Fiorentina were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ariel Chale to strike the kick off in the second half. Maximo Gasteiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele De Matteis in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Claudio Malatesta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Maximo Gasteiz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Horacio Egoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Amos Giusto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Sporting Club Sicilia's goal looked a bit too open when Bernabe Cordera came free, but Amos Giusto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Club Sicilia's goalkeeper Amos Giusto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maximo Gasteiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Galdi in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniele De Matteis in the 78th minute of play forced ACF Fiorentina's goalkeeper Maximo Gasteiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. ACF Fiorentina had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
