But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gert-Jan Volckaerts couldn't finish the play. 7 minutes into the match, KOO Tigers's goalkeeper Özal Erbay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gert-Jan Volckaerts. 9 minutes into the game, Gert-Jan Volckaerts recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Özal Erbay. Gert-Jan Volckaerts showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Atalan Demirsah hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Özal Erbay didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 14th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Arda Ozan Sökmensu managed to get in a good position for a shot. KOO Tigers's supporters rose to their feet, but Arda Ozan Sökmensu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Pelegrims breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geert Leenknecht got free with Özal Erbay in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute, Andrez Widdepenninck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Limburg United's Geert Leenknecht got a free kick in the 21st minute. When Dre Dierickx fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Limburg United's protests and gave Dre Dierickx a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Limburg United got a freekick which was hit by Dre Dierickx. In the 33rd minute, Gert-Jan Volckaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute Gert-Jan Volckaerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Özal Erbay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Geert Leenknecht recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Özal Erbay. Geert Leenknecht showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. With a little luck, KOO Tigers's Özal Erbay got control of the ball when Geert Leenknecht tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geert Leenknecht fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özal Erbay having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ulvi Saffet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Özal Erbay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geert Leenknecht in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Gert-Jan Volckaerts ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Özal Erbay was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert-Jan Volckaerts in the 56th minute of play forced KOO Tigers's goalkeeper Özal Erbay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Limburg United's Dre Dierickx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Özal Erbay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Özal Erbay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dre Dierickx in the 61st minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, KOO Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Gert-Jan Volckaerts came free, but Özal Erbay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the KOO Tigers defense, Gert-Jan Volckaerts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Özal Erbay. The KOO Tigers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Özal Erbay should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute, Gert-Jan Volckaerts left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Limburg United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. After a rather tough play, KOO Tigers's Atalan Demirsah got a free kick in the 86th minute. Ricky Backers struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Özal Erbay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Limburg United. Özal Erbay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dre Dierickx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. KOO Tigers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gert-Jan Volckaerts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. Limburg United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of KOO Tigers for a fine match.
