Szentgotthárd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pirates of Black Sea the free kick. After a rather tough play, Szentgotthárd's Endre Elek got a free kick in the 16th minute. Teoman Özdemir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Árpád Farkas in the 19th minute of play. After 20 played minutes Pirates of Black Sea got a freekick which was hit by Tugay Unsur. In the 22nd minute Endre Elek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teoman Özdemir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Gábor Bíró successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Muhsin Sözmen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Gábor Bíró tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jónás Salamon's late challenge caught a Pirates of Black Sea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jónás Salamon helped the player get up and apologised. Jónás Salamon hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. If Ali Cengiz Gence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Muhsin Sözmen came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gábor Bíró could save by the left post. Gábor Bíró didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 35th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Muhsin Sözmen got free with Gábor Bíró in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Muhsin Sözmen came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Pirates of Black Sea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Muhsin Sözmen couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ali Cengiz Gence stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ali Cengiz Gence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Muhsin Sözmen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pirates of Black Sea's supporters rose to their feet, but Muhsin Sözmen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gábor Bíró breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mátyás Pápai kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. When Muhsin Sözmen came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Pirates of Black Sea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Muhsin Sözmen couldn't finish the play. Gábor Bíró stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Muhsin Sözmen's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Muhsin Sözmen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teoman Özdemir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Máté Dárdai in the 66th minute of the match. In the 69th match minute, Pirates of Black Sea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Muhsin Sözmen to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Pirates of Black Sea getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Vahit Ünsaç hit a great ball. If Muhsin Sözmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Árpád Farkas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the game, Máté Dárdai recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teoman Özdemir. Máté Dárdai showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
