The supporters of UFC STEAUA booed when Outer Space FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfred Diem didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th match minute, UFC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Stoian to maneuver through the defense. Filip Băncilă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joost Mackenthun's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by UFC STEAUA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Manolo Hofmann was slow to take the kick. During this time Outer Space FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Outer Space FC's Rafael Pöhnl getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 11 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Cazimir Stoian. If Justin Schaffert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in UFC STEAUA's zone, Joost Mackenthun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filip Băncilă came out of the goal and Joost Mackenthun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 0-2 became the score in the 24th minute when Joost Mackenthun elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 27 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Hurmuzescu. Joost Mackenthun scored 0-3 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filip Băncilă, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to UFC STEAUA getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Ovidiu Hârțan hit a great ball. Filip Băncilă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joost Mackenthun in the 39th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in UFC STEAUA's zone, Justin Schaffert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filip Băncilă came out of the goal and Justin Schaffert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joost Mackenthun charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joost Mackenthun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joost Mackenthun to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg Filip Băncilă managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Outer Space FC's Justin Schaffert fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Filip Băncilă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Justin Schaffert in the 57th minute. After a defensive mix-up in UFC STEAUA's zone, Joost Mackenthun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filip Băncilă came out of the goal and Joost Mackenthun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Josua Kuhles kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. A hard shot 70 in the game by Joost Mackenthun from a close distance when the talented Filip Băncilă managed to make a qualified save. UFC STEAUA's players were relieved. Joost Mackenthun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Filip Băncilă made a huge save. After 78 minutes, Joost Mackenthun made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. UFC STEAUA's Filip Băncilă tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joost Mackenthun in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filip Băncilă saved UFC STEAUA from getting behind. Joost Mackenthun in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Filip Băncilă, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 85th play minutes Joost Mackenthun shot 0-7, a short shot which went by Filip Băncilă and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joost Mackenthun got free with Filip Băncilă in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Mike Cornelißen fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Outer Space FC's protests and gave Mike Cornelißen a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Outer Space FC defense, Marin Mihăileanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hemmo Bielstein. The Outer Space FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hemmo Bielstein should have stopped the shot.
