After 3 played minutes Xiboquinha FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Meireles. 6 minutes into the match, Utopía Muerta FC's Fidel Valente sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frédson Freire narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 8th match minute, Utopía Muerta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergio Fagondo to maneuver through the defense. Vicente Lucero charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vicente Lucero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the Utopía Muerta FC defense, Franklin Mendes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teo Librado. The Utopía Muerta FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teo Librado should have stopped the shot. Frédson Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Utopía Muerta FC's Dario Hartz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Frédson Freire in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Frédson Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fidel Valente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Utopía Muerta FC booed when Xiboquinha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Xiboquinha FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Placido Abaunza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Frédson Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The Utopía Muerta FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Xiboquinha FC were winning 0-1.

When Teodoro Guerau fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Utopía Muerta FC's protests and gave Teodoro Guerau a yellow card for diving instead. Teodoro Guerau kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Ruperto Cayo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frédson Freire. Xiboquinha FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruperto Cayo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 74 minutes, Jacinto Toribio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Utopía Muerta FC and the Xiboquinha FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Utopía Muerta FC's Jacinto Toribio got a free kick in the 74th minute. Hélio Meireles hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Utopía Muerta FC's Teo Librado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Mendes in the 81st minute of play. Hélder Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Frédson Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Hartz in the 91st minute of the match. Yuri Velloso hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
