Abílio Castelo Branco was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from German Isaio. In the 13th minute, Mateus Peralta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Bacardi Black Bats's Laércio Águas got a free kick in the 16th minute. Mateus Peralta charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mateus Peralta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Januário Madeira came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Bacardi Black Bats fans jumped to their feet. A collision led to Bacardi Black Bats getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. David Garcez hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute Javier Hermelando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abílio Castelo Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Laércio Águas fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bacardi Black Bats's protests and gave Laércio Águas a yellow card for diving instead. Laércio Águas hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Nicolau Vilarinho's late challenge caught a Esmeralda AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolau Vilarinho helped the player get up and apologised. Nicolau Vilarinho kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute, Januário Madeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bacardi Black Bats's Abílio Castelo Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Cordaryal in the 54th minute of play. Abílio Castelo Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Fagildo in the 56th minute of the match. Lucílio Aveiro kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Abílio Castelo Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Hermelando, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, Javier Hermelando ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abílio Castelo Branco was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Laércio Águas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Mateo Jakue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Abel Paião fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bacardi Black Bats's protests and gave Abel Paião a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Esmeralda AFC booed when Bacardi Black Bats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Paião didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Bacardi Black Bats defense, Aaron Fagildo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abílio Castelo Branco. The Bacardi Black Bats fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abílio Castelo Branco should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Esmeralda AFC booed when Bacardi Black Bats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolau Vilarinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute, Nicanor Meder sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Bacardi Black Bats's Abílio Castelo Branco didn't even have to move. If Javier Hermelando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Esmeralda AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
