After having played for 5 minutes, Nicanor Rolado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aves Negras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicanor Rolado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Aves Negras's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Sazon came free, but Siro Berasko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Siro Berasko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ladislao Sazon in the 11th minute of play. Siro Berasko came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by The Cavern Club's Angel Aballe. But to his dismay, Angel Aballe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredo Lauren got free with Juan Natal in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Siro Berasko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angel Aballe in the 23rd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Tomás Iturri sped through Aves Negras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Siro Berasko. If Martín González had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicanor Rolado got free with Juan Natal in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of The Cavern Club booed when Aves Negras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edelmiro Garikoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, The Cavern Club's goal looked a bit too open when Edelmiro Garikoitz came free, but Juan Natal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Pocho Lavezzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Siro Berasko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ladislao Sazon, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Edelmiro Garikoitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicanor Rolado in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Natal saved The Cavern Club from getting behind. After the first half The Cavern Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ladislao Sazon made the kick off in the second half. Juan Natal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Rolado in the 51st minute of play. Juan Natal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicanor Rolado in the 53rd minute of the match. Siro Berasko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Sazon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan Natal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Rolado in the 63rd minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Nicolás Burdisso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Cavern Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aves Negras the free kick. The supporters of Aves Negras booed when The Cavern Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolás Burdisso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodolfo Burni struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Juan Natal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aves Negras. Nicanor Rolado hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. A collision led to The Cavern Club getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Santos Lehen hit a great ball. Alfredo Lauren took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan Natal. Juan Natal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Cavern Club's Juan Natal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Burni in the 87th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Luisito Errando got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Juan Natal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Nicanor Rolado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Aves Negras fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! Aves Negras's Siro Berasko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Sazon in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute of the match, Ladislao Sazon tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Siro Berasko saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The The Cavern Club players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
