When Inocencio Palma fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CS La Libertad's protests and gave Inocencio Palma a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th minute, Inocencio Palma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rogelio Guardia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ted Lasso. Internacional Pechofrío's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, CS La Libertad's Carlos Alvarado got control of the ball when Enzo Salas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 35 minutes, Mainor Huetar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CS La Libertad and the Internacional Pechofrío players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ted Lasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidro Valverde, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Ted Lasso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. CS La Libertad's Lucas Guardia was substituted for Rogelio Guardia. Lucas Guardia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ted Lasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brandon Aguilera took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ted Lasso. Ted Lasso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The Internacional Pechofrío players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CS La Libertad were winning 0-3.

Internacional Pechofrío's Jaume Duyos was substituted for Enzo Salas. CS La Libertad's Gallo Pinto was substituted for Isidro Valverde. In the 59th minute Jaume Duyos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alvarado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81stth minute of the game Jaume Duyos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CS La Libertad's Carlos Alvarado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Lucas Guardia notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Internacional Pechofrío's Ted Lasso. Ted Lasso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ted Lasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon Aguilera in the 87th minute of play. A collision led to CS La Libertad getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Gallo Pinto hit a great ball. Ted Lasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gallo Pinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The CS La Libertad supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CS La Libertad would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
