In the 22nd minute Stasio Marosz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nemesio Franco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Stasio Marosz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Stasio Marosz got a free kick in the 34th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as El Azulgrana's Pablo Etxatxu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marek Gdowik. That made the score 2-1 after 36 minutes of play. Nemesio Franco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominik Brzonkala in the 40th minute of the match. ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Stasio Marosz got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of El Azulgrana booed when ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wlodzimierz Lewkowicz didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Dominik Brzonkala could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Nemesio Franco made a huge save. 77 minutes into the match, El Azulgrana's Timoteo Jaume sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marek Gdowik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, El Azulgrana's Nemesio Franco got control of the ball when Dominik Brzonkala tried to sneak it across the goal line.
