In the 4th minute, O rey Iván's Amador Aragones dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 11th minute Edson Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Romelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as O rey Iván's Arnulfo Palben slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Waldir dos Santos. That made the score 2-0 after 13 minutes of play. Samuel Bibiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to ARON FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Nelsinho da Rocha hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Arnulfo Palben managed to get in a good position for a shot. O rey Iván's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnulfo Palben was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir dos Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of ARON FC booed when O rey Iván was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Bibiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramiro Romelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Recife in the 27th minute of play. Cláudio Proença hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. A hard shot 31 in the game by Arnulfo Palben from a close distance when the talented Waldir dos Santos managed to make a qualified save. ARON FC's players were relieved. 33 minutes into the match, ARON FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnulfo Palben came free, but Waldir dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amador Aragones in the 44th minute of play forced ARON FC's goalkeeper Waldir dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Arnulfo Palben left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The O rey Iván fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amador Aragones to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes O rey Iván got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Palben. When Arnulfo Palben came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the O rey Iván fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnulfo Palben couldn't finish the play. In the 54th minute, Renatinho Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnulfo Palben scored 4-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waldir dos Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Palben in the 60th minute of play forced ARON FC's goalkeeper Waldir dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldir dos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Palben in the 65th minute of play. The O rey Iván fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when O rey Iván's Arnulfo Palben looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Arnulfo Palben had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Arnulfo Palben put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Waldir dos Santos. Waldir dos Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amador Aragones's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. 91 minutes into the game, Arnulfo Palben cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Waldir dos Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rigoberto Lobo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
