To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kauã Vander received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nando Antunes came out and tried to block the shot, but Kauã Vander slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 21st minute. In the 32nd minute S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were awarded a corner. Dagoberto Esteves went to the cornerflag to take it. Jaime Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Ferraz having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 38 minutes into the game, when Joaquim Sousa put in a rough tackle. Joaquim Sousa hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bebeto da Silva was the one to do the kick off. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul:s Fausto Ferraz showed great skill when he stopped Paulo José Peres:s penalty. Fausto Ferraz came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by F.Salgado F.C.'s Paulo José Peres. But to his dismay, Paulo José Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 58th minute Marcel Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nando Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, F.Salgado F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Rui da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind F.Salgado F.C.'s goalkeeper Nando Antunes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
