Santos da Bahia Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NEWELL´S OLD BOYS the free kick. The supporters of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS booed when Santos da Bahia Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandão Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute Fernandão Penha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Calvino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramon Calvino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bala Mole went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 11 minutes of play, Santos da Bahia Fc's Fernandão Penha made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramon Calvino was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bala Mole took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ramon Calvino. Ramon Calvino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. If Lisa Simpson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Alejo Horado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. When Santos da Bahia Fc's Bala Mole in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ramon Calvino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Lisa Simpson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramon Calvino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bala Mole, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the game, Bala Mole cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Ramon Calvino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Bala Mole had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Apolo Richie made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Alejo Horado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Terra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bala Mole got free with Ramon Calvino in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. William Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Lisa Simpson took a quick shot and it went in 1-9 without a chance for Ramon Calvino to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mario Uhin during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Mario Uhin got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute William Cosme managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. 73 minutes into the game, Fernandão Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-10. Ramon Calvino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ramon Calvino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandão Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bala Mole could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Ramon Calvino made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bala Mole in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramon Calvino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fernan Hug charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernan Hug the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Fernan Hug got a free kick in the 82nd minute. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Ramon Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Penha in the 92nd minute of play. Tony Terra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Horado in the 95th minute of play. Santos da Bahia Fc played a much better game than NEWELL´S OLD BOYS and deserved their victory. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
