Robin Bäckström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Célio Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göran Alström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gustavo Henrique fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guará FC's protests and gave Gustavo Henrique a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 14 minutes, Cristóvão Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guará FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristóvão Mattos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Célio Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Mjølner in the 16th minute of the match. Robin Bäckström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristóvão Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of The Northmen Army booed when Guará FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goalkeeper Célio Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcus Mjølner. Célio Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Mjølner in the 28th minute of play. Marcus Mjølner who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Célio Mendonça when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some careless play in the Guará FC defense, Marcus Mjølner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Célio Mendonça. The Guará FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Célio Mendonça should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Thiago Matorin made the kick off in the second half. If Marcus Mjølner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guará FC's Thiago Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Naldo Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Bäckström having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Mjølner came free, but Célio Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Mattos in the 79th minute of play forced The Northmen Army's goalkeeper Robin Bäckström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Mjølner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Mendonça having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Guará FC's zone, Vilhelm Vallander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Mendonça came out of the goal and Vilhelm Vallander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcus Mjølner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Mendonça having to interfere. The Northmen Army walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
