Dimosthenis Karagiannidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Izaak Achterberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Niels-Jan van Zijl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, The Underdogs's goalkeeper Gerben Reiling had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fragiskos Farmakopoulos. Dionysis Chronis made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by The Underdogs's Jonathan de Freitas. Dimosthenis Karagiannidis came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by The Underdogs's Izaak Achterberg. But to his dismay, Izaak Achterberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Dimosthenis Karagiannidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niels-Jan van Zijl, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The Mean Machine players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The Underdogs were winning 0-2.

Niels-Jan van Zijl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Dimosthenis Karagiannidis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kleon Karamanis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Marinus Mols hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marinus Mols hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in The Underdogs's zone, Periklis Ntountas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerben Reiling came out of the goal and Periklis Ntountas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Babbis Zisimopoulos made in the 71st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by The Underdogs's Douwe Batum. Izaak Achterberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dimosthenis Karagiannidis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Izaak Achterberg ran back to his position shaking his head. 86 minutes into the match, Mean Machine's goal looked a bit too open when Derk Spijkerman came free, but Dimosthenis Karagiannidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Kleon Karamanis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
