The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulisses Santos got free with Clifford Benton in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lúcio Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. The supporters of Leeton United FC booed when Nova Erechim - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thomas Thomas lost his temper 30 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafinha Trigo in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clifford Benton saved Leeton United FC from getting behind. In the 57th match minute, Leeton United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corbett Rosenboom to maneuver through the defense. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Murillo Chaves was substituted for Hílton Guedes. In the 64th minute, Sandro Meirelles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clifford Benton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 70 minutes, Sandro Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Cristiano Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the game, Evandro Pernambucano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leeton United FC the free kick. Juan Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Berke Limmer sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Leeton United FC's Jacob Baxter got a free kick in the 94th minute. Rafinha Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Clifford Benton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Leeton United FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Nova Erechim - FSCMZ.
