In the 8th minute Murilo Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel Massa hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Curiphila Eagles's Juarês Pereira tried to score from far away in the 10th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Paulo José Paraibano's late challenge caught a Curiphila Eagles's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo José Paraibano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to NEGRITUDE FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Paulo José Paraibano hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Curiphila Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Travassos came free, but Naldo Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 played minutes, NEGRITUDE FC's Marcel Massa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Naldo Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in NEGRITUDE FC reached it. When Flavinho Paranaense came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Curiphila Eagles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavinho Paranaense couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Curiphila Eagles getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Murilo Paiva hit a great ball. Silas Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the game, Murilo Paiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curiphila Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NEGRITUDE FC the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Paulo José Paraibano made a precise shot to the right of Naldo Costa. Curiphila Eagles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flavinho Paranaense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silas Travassos got free with Naldo Costa in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 54th minute of the match Marcel Massa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Naldo Costa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Paulo José Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Lúcio Furtado notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of NEGRITUDE FC's José Pedro Mota. José Pedro Mota was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 64th minute, Murilo Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 74 minutes, Lúcio Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curiphila Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lúcio Furtado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Pedro Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th match minute, NEGRITUDE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro Andrade to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in NEGRITUDE FC's zone, Juarês Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro Mota came out of the goal and Juarês Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee ended the match the Curiphila Eagles players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
