Stefan Målare made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when Övertorneå RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torbjörn Enström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Ellis Jakob. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karsten Illgner in the 28th minute of play forced Övertorneå RK's goalkeeper Stefan Målare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Övertorneå RK's Stefan Målare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karsten Illgner in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Hussen in the 46th minute of play forced Övertorneå RK's goalkeeper Stefan Målare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Övertorneå RK's Elliott Termander got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karsten Illgner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Holger Kaumanns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Ola Ståhlberg in the 56th minute of the match. Stefan Målare made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Manfred Andrau sent off a good shot on target. If Manfred Andrau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manfred Andrau got free with Stefan Målare in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Jens-Ola Ståhlberg fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Övertorneå RK's protests and gave Jens-Ola Ståhlberg a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 minutes, Gunnar Hofmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Uerdingen 05 and the Övertorneå RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Manfred Andrau kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Stefan Målare. That made the score 1-2 in the 74 minute of play. Manfred Andrau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karsten Illgner struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Stefan Målare didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Uerdingen 05. Stefan Målare didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when KFC Uerdingen 05's Karsten Illgner shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-3 in the ordered_time% minute.
