The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5thth minute of the game Rodrick Orlinsky who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but I.A.S.A's Rojelio Lario was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 7 minutes into the game, one of I.A.S.A:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kris Marks placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 1-0 became the score in the 10th minute when Bibiano Alija elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Homer Diggs hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 14 played minutes, I.A.S.A's Mambru Martiniana shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bart Greenwood came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in I.A.S.A reached it. Rojelio Lario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrick Orlinsky, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Edgardo Partearroyo kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Kris Marks, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 22 minutes into the game, Santos FC's Rodrick Orlinsky nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rojelio Lario made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Rojelio Lario came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Santos FC's Rodrick Orlinsky. But to his dismay, Rodrick Orlinsky quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Rojelio Lario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrick Orlinsky, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute of the game, Edgardo Partearroyo landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 45 minutes into the game, Jamar Maxwell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave I.A.S.A the free kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kris Marks made a kick off. Bart Greenwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bibiano Alija, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Homer Diggs kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Kris Marks could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Rojelio Lario made a huge save. Rojelio Lario didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Santos FC's Rodrick Orlinsky shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Bibiano Alija sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Mambru Martiniana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bibiano Alija in the 93rd minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Bart Greenwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Santos FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Santos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
