The referee ignored BASEL FC's protests and gave Marwal Pelani a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes BASEL FC got a freekick which was hit by Marwal Pelani. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Mamat Muntu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 21 minutes into the match, BASEL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Cachurro came free, but Mamat Muntu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ben White was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 23 minutes into the match. The referee gave BASEL FC a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marwal Pelani, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Txomin Rujido. 0-1. If Nurul Wijoyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goal looked a bit too open when Marwal Pelani came free, but Txomin Rujido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of BASEL FC booed when Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Merexildo Contero didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agung Gultom in the 33rd minute of play forced Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalkeeper Txomin Rujido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Theodore Igarza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Mamat Muntu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Deportivo Peñarol FIFV getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Juan Manuel Olivera hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Natalio Cachurro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. BASEL FC's Adjat Dinanto shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 52nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Txomin Rujido but with some difficulty. 56 minutes into the game, Galih Sagala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BASEL FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Peñarol FIFV the free kick. Marwal Pelani's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Txomin Rujido firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind BASEL FC's goalkeeper Mamat Muntu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 63rd minute Randy Nugroho clashed with another player. He fell to the ground and was in great pain. It was obvious that he couldn't finish the game. Conrado Encia's late challenge caught a BASEL FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrado Encia helped the player get up and apologised. Conrado Encia hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 67th match minute, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabián Estoyanoff to maneuver through the defense. Marwal Pelani struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Txomin Rujido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BASEL FC. Agung Gultom kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Theodore Igarza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Natalio Cachurro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mamat Muntu having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goal looked a bit too open when Nurul Wijoyo came free, but Txomin Rujido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agung Gultom kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
