Spectators: 206 (Terracing: 155, Seating: 47, VIP seats: 4) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gustavo Lloret started the match with the kick off. Themistoklis Charalambakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Lloret, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 6 played minutes Go Ahead Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Miltos Theriaklis. Sotomayor Pendones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC Philotimo booed when Go Ahead Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koulis Psomiadis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Fernandez Señor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Philotimo's Gavica Enderica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aris Kolitsis in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Dimitris Koukoulas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Go Ahead Eagles fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 20th minute, Vassilis Stratidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Gustavo Lloret took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Themistoklis Charalambakis to make any attempt to save it. Themistoklis Charalambakis was a little too slow when Gustavo Lloret got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 2-1. When Kaviedes Alcubierre came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the FC Philotimo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaviedes Alcubierre couldn't finish the play. Themistoklis Charalambakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sotomayor Pendones in the 33rd minute of play. After 35 played minutes FC Philotimo got a freekick which was hit by Ponce Mudarra. In the 36th minute Thanasis Tsipas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gavica Enderica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Dimitris Koukoulas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Gavica Enderica was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gavica Enderica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vassilis Stratidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dimitris Koukoulas was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Gustavo Lloret shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themistoklis Charalambakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 53 minutes Go Ahead Eagles's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gustavo Lloret who took care of the corner kick. In the 53rd minute, Felix Artiaga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute Mario Giner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themistoklis Charalambakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Philotimo were furious when Ponce Mudarra was red carded, 63 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 62nd minute, one of FC Philotimo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Philotimo. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Go Ahead Eagles. Vassilis Stratidis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gavica Enderica. 2-3. 67 minutes into the game, Kaviedes Alcubierre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Philotimo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Go Ahead Eagles the free kick. In the 67th minute, Kaviedes Alcubierre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Giner came free, but Themistoklis Charalambakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Themistoklis Charalambakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Lloret in the 76th minute of the match. In the 82nd match minute, Go Ahead Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aris Kolitsis to maneuver through the defense. After 83 played minutes, FC Philotimo's Rodrigo Lecea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Themistoklis Charalambakis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Philotimo reached it. Go Ahead Eagles's Themistoklis Charalambakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Lloret in the 86th minute of play. Dimitris Koukoulas was extremely unlucky when he, in the 93rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After recieving a nice pass, Go Ahead Eagles's Vassilis Stratidis tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Themistoklis Charalambakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Lloret in the 98th minute of play. The Go Ahead Eagles supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Go Ahead Eagles would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
