But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonard Chirculescu couldn't finish the play. Adilson Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Todericiu in the 17th minute of the match. Ricardo Goiano charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricardo Goiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Paralia Athens booed when Lupere FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Leonard Chirculescu came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Paralia Athens fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Chirculescu in the 25th minute of play forced Lupere FC's goalkeeper Adilson Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Leonard Chirculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonard Chirculescu took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adilson Palmeira. Adilson Palmeira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Chirculescu in the 41st minute of play forced Lupere FC's goalkeeper Adilson Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Leonard Chirculescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adilson Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Paralia Athens's Costel Neagoe got a free kick in the 45th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Renan Quirino to make the kick off. Doru Apostu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renan Quirino in the 51st minute of play. Renan Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Doru Apostu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute Juarês Bastos suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. When Eliodor Stelaru fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paralia Athens's protests and gave Eliodor Stelaru a yellow card for diving instead. Lupere FC's Gonçalo Baptista was substituted for Juarês Bastos. Doru Apostu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdo Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Manuel Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute, Lucrețiu Miheș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paralia Athens's Leonard Chirculescu got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Paralia Athens booed when Lupere FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandinho Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renan Quirino might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Doru Apostu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Renan Quirino ran back to his position shaking his head. Lupere FC's Adilson Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stelian Todericiu in the 85th minute of play. Leonard Chirculescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adilson Palmeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonard Chirculescu ran back to his position shaking his head. Leonard Chirculescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonard Chirculescu's late challenge caught a Lupere FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Chirculescu helped the player get up and apologised. Leonard Chirculescu kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The Lupere FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Paralia Athens were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
