The supporters of JKs Talanger booed when Universitario de deportes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juanito Rosario didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th match minute, JKs Talanger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viktor Nilsson to maneuver through the defense. Henry Nyberg hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Juanito Rosario took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mikael Pilberg. JKs Talanger's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mikael Pilberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egoi Bermejo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute, Egoi Bermejo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Viktor Nilsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Feijo Dobale having to make a save. 42 minutes into the game, Etxahun Cifuentes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Universitario de deportes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave JKs Talanger the free kick. After a rather tough play, Universitario de deportes's Etxahun Cifuentes got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When Dennis Byström fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored JKs Talanger's protests and gave Dennis Byström a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 played minutes JKs Talanger got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Byström. 59 minutes into the match, JKs Talanger's goal looked a bit too open when Eleazar Coello came free, but Mikael Pilberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute of the match, Arne Björklund tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Feijo Dobale saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Juanito Rosario's late challenge caught a JKs Talanger's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juanito Rosario helped the player get up and apologised. Eleazar Coello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Mikael Pilberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Universitario de deportes's Jeremias Herrero was substituted for Juanito Rosario. In the 69th match minute, JKs Talanger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Göran Öberg to maneuver through the defense. If Eleazar Coello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 played minutes Universitario de deportes got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Zapater. After 78th play minutes Egoi Bermejo shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Mikael Pilberg and just under the crossbar into goal. Arne Björklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremias Herrero kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 89th minute Eleazar Coello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikael Pilberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 minutes of play, Universitario de deportes's Eleazar Coello made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mikael Pilberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 98 minutes, Jeremias Herrero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universitario de deportes and the JKs Talanger players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jeremias Herrero hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Universitario de deportes's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
